Understanding Knowledge Exchange

Energise your creativity, storytelling, event, business, podcast or career through workshops, roundtables, panel discussions, dialogue and mentorships.

Depending on the aim and outcomes of your learning goal or project, Freshly shares knowledge by drawing upon its international collective of industry experts, community leaders, producers, writers, musicians and lawyers to curate the ideal learning experience you’re looking for.

If you’d like to book Izzy as a speaker, you can reach out via hello@freshlygroundstories.com

Shaping the Conversation

Very often, discussions about the creative industry tend towards the intellectual or theoretical. Whilst these have their place, Freshly is passionate about addressing real-world issues and aims to facilitate frank and honest discussions that proactively kick-off with  the tough questions, before waiting for the Q&A.

Freshly’s approach is one of fostering connection and community, in a relatable manner through sharing stories. Audiences should walk away feeling validated, inspired and empowered to take action to advocate for themselves or their industry. Freshly is intentional about avoiding the open-ended  “now what?” question that can usually come up at the end of a discussion, by deliberately addressing it at the start.

Intention is everything

Panels, festivals and events can always be engaging. They are engaging with more depth and debate when there is diversity of thought. That is when the aha moments occur and the magic happens.

Freshly is committed to encouraging event organisers to be proactive about curating guests and speakers, by highlighting lack of representation to any event invite, especially before saying yes.

It’s a collective responsibility to ask tough questions that may close some doors, but open many more.

Our commitment to humanity

The storytelling community of the Global South, both local and diaspora, is currently navigating an inner balance of re-charge vs. reboot, often pulled by a sense of duty and responsibility towards the latter.

In a time when narratives that dehumanise, stereotype, or misrepresent the Global South and other marginalised identities are on the rise, Freshly is committed to playing a part - however small - in humanising stories, especially in the rooms where decisions are made.
